Air Supply's "I'm All Out of Love" featured in Disney's "Old Dogs" Film

SOFT ROCK HIT-MAKING DUO AIR SUPPLY STEALS THE SCENE IN TV COMMERCIAL FOR DISNEY’S LATEST FILM ‘OLD DOGS’ STARRING JOHN TRAVOLTA & ROBIN WILLIAMS AS SETH GREEN CREATES MONKEY BUSINESS WITH THEIR CLASSIC HIT ‘I’M ALL OUT OF LOVE’

Years after dominating the pop charts with their romantic perennials, Graham Russell and Russell Hitchcock of Air Supply are still making fans of all species fall in love. Released on the eve of Thanksgiving, Disney’s new movie “Old Dogs” with a star-studded cast including John Travolta, Robin Williams, Matt Dillon and Seth Green, features a trailer (movie-speak for TV commercial to promote a film) with Air Supply’s 80’s hit “I’m All Out Of Love" as the punch line. The commercial has become a favorite online as well as on the TV talk show circuit where the clip has been previewed by such closeted Air Supply fans as Jay Leno and Jimmy Kimmel.

The attention-grabbing scene in the commercial is set in a zoo where Travolta, Williams and Green inadvertently end up inside a guerilla enclosure where Green is unable to escape. Despite the dreaded outcome, he unexpectedly sings a lullaby to the creature with the timeless classic “I’m All Out of Love” to save himself from being harmed. Green carries on belting out lyrics to calm the beguiling creature, creating a hysterical moment for audiences. Click here to see the movie trailer on YouTube.

Explains Air Supply’s Graham Russell, “I think because our music is known to be so passionate and heartfelt, the lyrics are actually being used in the plot-lines of films and commercials, sometimes to break the tension with comic relief. We like that much better than simply being used as background music. We really get a kick out of it!”

“Humor aside, it’s an honor to have our music included in a movie trailer associated with such admirable award-winning actors,” adds Russell Hitchcock of the song-making duo.

Air Supply’s music is no stranger to adding to plot lines. In “Mr. & Mrs. Smith” released in 2005, the classic tune “Making Love Out Of Nothing At All” makes a cameo as Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt also attempt to escape a dangerous situation. And who can forget the widely seen Carl’s Jr. commercial with the hilarious Air Supply burger?

Air Supply is currently on a worldwide tour and gearing up for their new album Mumbo Jumbo and 35th anniversary in 2010. For the latest tour information, visit www.airsupplymusic.com.

"Free Love" by Air Supply

Friday, 24 July 2009 00:00

The trademark sound of Russell Hitchcock's soaring tenor and Graham Russell's simple yet majestic songs created a unique sound forever known as, Air Supply. From their initial 1975 meet at rehearsal for Jesus Christ Superstar in Sydney an instant friendship formed leading to their own performances and a recording contract. Signed to Arista Records in 1980 "Lost In Love" became the fastest selling single in the world followed by "All Out of Love" which became even a bigger hit. Seven top ten singles later Air Supply, at that time, equaled the Beatles run of consecutive top five singles. The albums, "Lost In Love", "The One That Loves You", "Now and Forever", and "The Greatest Hits", sold in excess of 20 million copies. World wide touring and multi-million plays on the radio solidified Air Supply as a permanent force in modern music. Air Supply were trail blazers on the tour front being the first pop music group allowed to tour China and Taiwan. South America has also been covered as were countless other countries which led to "The Earth Is" selling over a million copies outside of the US alone. This project was followed by the CD "The Vanishing Race" and singles "Goodbye" and "It's Never Too late" with multi-platinum success.
